AL TIMINS

Ambassador of Chili
The Renaissance of San Fernando Valley

Al Timins likes to cook. After training at the Cooks, Bakers and Butcher's School in the U.S. Merchant Marine in World War II, Al realized his first love by volunteering his services for many charities and people. From the Chamber of Commerce to the Kiwanis Club, to the Elks Club, to Tierra del Sol, to the American Legion, to Rotary, to Bolton Hall Museum, to LAPD, to Knights of Columbus, the Girl Scouts, the Cub Scouts, CAmp Sherwood, the Police Athletic league, Churches, Synagogues, YMCA's, Hospitals, Veterans, Retirement homes. Al has cooked for U.S. presidents, the Pope, two California Governors, members of Congress, and for State, County and City officials along with just about everyone else who, from time to time, likes to eat. This Julia Child of the Valley has given of his time and talents in every conceivable venue — from western nights and picnics to New England clam bakes and Vegas casino nights. Al is a philanthropist, a talented decorator and a concerned citizen along with being a chef extraordinaire. Above all he is a doer and a giver. Al received the Humanitarian Award presented by President Ronald Reagan
